Paris’ Angelina Tearoom on 226 rue de Rivoli is a favorite meeting place for locals and tourists alike. For over a century, it has maintained its larger-than-life ambiance with its Belle Epoque interiors and sophisticated charm. Their carefully curated menu is just as incredible.
The Angelina Tea House is best known for their incredibly rich Old-Fashioned Hot Chocolate “l’Africain” and their signature pastry, the Mont-Blanc. The Mont-Blanc is a delicious meringue covered in light whipped cream and topped with chestnut cream vermicelli. Many other patisseries have attempted their version of the this but haven’t been able to imitate the richness of Angelina’s closely-guarded recipe. Besides, it’s just not the same without the Tearoom’s distinctly opulent vibe.
While they’re internationally renowned for their hot chocolate and pastries, the Angelina Tearoom is the perfect brunch spot. They offer a full brunch course, customizable to suit your preferences. For us, the perfect Angelina Tearoom brunch combination includes the Angelina hot chocolate, freshly pressed orange juice, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and crunchy muesli with whole milk plain yogurt. All these are served with their mini viennoiseries of both butter and chocolate croissants, and bread rolls served with butter and chestnut cream.
After a great conversation over this satisfying meal, make sure to purchase some treats to take away. You can’t go wrong with the Coffret Mont-Blanc. It’s a sampler of four medium-sized Mont-Blancs in different flavors including Classic, Blackcurrant, Chocolate, and Coco-Passion. It’s a beautiful assortment that you can indulge in across the street at the Jardin des Tuileries.
